4th Quarter Nationwide CESWE
Result Released; 268 Pass

More than 60 percent or 268 examinees passed the 17 December 2023 nationwide Career Executive Service (CES) Written Examination (WE). It is a paper-and-pencil exam and the first examination stage for CES Eligibility. The CESWE was held simultaneously in three testing centers, namely: University of the Philippines (Quezon City), University of Cebu (Cebu City) and DepEd-NEAP (Davao City).

Acing the 17 December 2023 CESWE is Luz Jordana S. Jose, who obtained the highest rating of 89.61%. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) by profession and is presently Planning Officer V at the Department of Justice. Prior to DOJ, she was Corporate Governance Officer V at the Governance Commission for GOCCs from 01 March 2016 to 04 January 2023. She graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, Magna Cum Laude, at the University of San Carlos-Main Campus in 2010. In 2020, she completed her Master in Business Administration at the Far Eastern University-Makati. She passed the CPA Board Examinations in October 2010 with a rating of 90.43%. She is a member of the Philippine Institute of CPAs since 2010, and her fields of specialization include finance, planning and corporate governance.

Next in rank is Marson Jan S. Dolendo, who obtained the second highest rating of 89.54%. He is presently Chief Trade Industry Development Specialist at the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-CARAGA, where he spent more than 20 years of his career starting as a contractual employee in 2001. He graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Science major in Mathematics in1999 at the Xavier University-Ateneo De Cagayan. In 2017, he received his Master in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Swinburne University of Technology, through the Australia Awards. His field of expertise is Trade and Industry.

The third highest is Melquiades Marcus N. Valdez II, who obtained a rating of 89.13%. He is a lawyer by profession and presently Director IV at the Consumer Policy and Advocacy Bureau-DTI. He graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Humanities major in Philosophy, Politics and Economics in 2002 at the University of Asia and the Pacific. In 2009, he finished his Master of Business Administration-Juris Doctor, a dual degree program at De La Salle University/Far Eastern University. He was admitted to the Philippine Bar on 18 April 2011, after passing the 2010 Bar Examinations, and his field of specialization include law, and trade & industry.

The top 10 passers came from different government agencies and are first time CESWE examinees. Except for the top 2 who took the exam in Davao City, the other top 9 passers were registered in Quezon City testing venue.

Successful CESWE examinees are now qualified to proceed to the Assessment Center (AC), the second examination stage of the CES Eligibility process.
