CESB classifies 13 executive and managerial positions at the BFP as CES positions

On August 31, 2017, the Career Executive Service Board (CESB) approved CESB Resolution No. 1368 classifying thirteen (13) executive and managerial positions at the Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP) as Career Executive Service (CES) positions.

These positions are the following:

1. Deputy Chief for Administration;
2. Deputy Chief for Operations;
3. Chief of Directorial Staff;
4. Director for Personnel;
5. Director for Human Resource Development;
6. Director for Comptrollership;
7. Director for Logistics;
8. Director for Plans;
9. Director for Operations;
10. Director for Fire Safety and Enforcement;
11. Director for Intelligence and Investigation;
12. Director for Communication & Information Technology Management; and
13. BFP Regional Director for National Capital Region (NCR).

Pursuant to its mandate and authority to classify and declassify positions in the third level as CES positions, the Board regularly conducts Position Classification Studies in all government agencies to ensure that the coverage of the CES is in accordance with the policies and criteria set by the Board through CESB Resolution Number 945, Series of 2011, and the decision of the Supreme Court in Civil Service Commission v. Court of Appeals and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, G. R. No. 185766-67, dated November 23, 2010, limiting the coverage of the CES to managerial/executive positions requiring Presidential appointments.
