LEADERSHIP AND GOVERNANCE SERIES ON WOMEN LEADERSHIP IN CEBU

The Career Executive Service Board (CESB) is launching its Leadership Governance Series by bringing together exemplary women leaders in various fields to share practical leadership lessons.

To be held in Waterfront Cebu Hotel on March 26, the first of the series will feature power-house women leaders in their respective fields, namely Marikina City Mayor Ma. Lourdes C. Fernando, Newsbreak Editor-In-Chief Ms. Marites D. Vitug, and Assistant Ombudsman Atty. Virginia P. Santiago.

Fernando is a multi-awarded local chief executive who is noted for her corporate approach to community management, Vitug is recognized as a pioneering environmental reporter who co-founded the investigative magazine in 2000; and Santiago has championed good governance throughout a career dedicated to strengthen integrity and accountability in the public sector. The three outstanding women leaders were invited to share their experiences, insights and leadership approaches on varying governance concerns.

The CESB’s LGS is designed as an opportunity for strengthening commitment and expanding linkages and partnerships towards improving governance capacities.

The CESB is mandated to promulgate rules, standards and procedures on the selection, classification, compensation and career development of government career executive officers.

This is part of CESB’s contribution to the gender and development advocacy in the bureaucracy, said CESB executive director Ma. Anthonette V. Allones.
